There is another theory to explain the pattern of behaviour by politicians and government officials referred to in my previous post. We’re lobbying other countries for a seat on the Security Council. Now we can say to all those countries in South America, Africa and the Middle East: “Vote for New Zealand. We’re not so different, you and us.”
