I don’t usually appeal for help, but this is a good cause.
December can be a very difficult time of year for some people. It’s a time of loneliness for many without families to share Christmas cheer, while for others the demands of the festive season can be financially crippling.
There’s another December problem you probably haven’t thought much about, but it’s a very real and painful one for people like me. We all know that slow traffic can be a problem in some areas of the country during this time of year, but did you know that blog traffic also slows down to a crawl during December?
Every December my blog stats turn ugly. People on holiday decide they have more important things to do than read my blog. Apparently it’s more fun to go to the beach than read my important and incisive comments on the issues of the day. Go figure.
December is almost over, but it’s not too late to turn things around. I reckon I can preserve my position on the Open Parachute blog ranking, but I’ll need your help.
Here’s a few things you can do to help:
- Sit on one of my blog pages and keep pushing the refresh button. Until midnight.
- Tell everyone on Twitter and Facebook that I need their help. Direct them to one of my blog pages.
- Make a banner displaying my blog address, and hang it over the side of a motorway overbridge.
- Blog about my blog. Lie if necessary. People are more likely to visit my site if they think it will help to sate some of their most savage and depraved lusts.
I’m sure you can come up with more creative ways to help. Just do what you can, and do it now, because December is almost over.
Or you can choose to do nothing. Go on, enjoy your holiday, wallow in your selfishness, and watch on as I’m beaten in the blog rankings by a bunch of craft and religion blogs. Again.
