This cake has nothing to do with marriage equality.
But it looks like a nice cake.

This post was originally published four weeks ago, just before the second reading of the Marriage Equality Bill. But it is as relevant as it was back then. It’s a powerful reminder that we should be careful what we wish for.

I have been thinking for a while about writing a post on the Marriage Equality Bill.

I’m sure you have heard all the arguments for and against the bill, but I thought it would be great if someone without a vested interest in the outcome spent some time doing a bit of solid research on all the terrible things we can expect to see if the bill passes into law.

The problem with such an exercise is that it requires a great deal of research, which is why only now, on the eve of the Second Reading of the bill, I am publishing my findings.

So here’s my list of all the terrible things that we can expect to see as a result of the passing of the Marriage Equality Bill.

Please let me know if I have missed anything off my list.
