In a post on Friday I described Colin Craig as a “moneyed clown”.

I realise in hindsight that my language was inappropriate and offensive, and I am writing to apologise.

Clowns give such joy to small children. They don’t deserve such a vicious slur against their noble reputation.

Please, clowns, know that you have my sincerest apologies for comparing you to that person.
